The Michigan Department of Transportation will be suspending the majority of its construction projects for the Fourth of July weekend.
Traffic restrictions will be removed from 118 of 162 MDOT projects as of 3 p.m. Wednesday through 6 a.m. Monday, July 8.

Interstate 94 seen from the Platt Road overpass looking west on April 23 when a truck accident caused traffic delays in the eastbound lanes. MDOT is planning to close one direction of traffic on the roadway at a time on select weekends this summer for resurfacing.

Following the holiday weekend, a major reconstruction project will begin on nine miles of Interstate 94 on the south side of Ann Arbor.
One direction of I-94 will be entirely closed to traffic from late Friday to early Monday morning for four weekends from M-14 split to the Carpenter Road overpass.
The closures will be scheduled for weekends that don't have major events happening in the Ann Arbor area.
